  2. Will we return to school after the drill?  No. After you pick up your child from the reunification location, they are done for the day.

  3. What time will the drill occur?  In the afternoon on May 24th. We are advised to keep specific details private as part of practicing for an emergency/unexpected event.

  4. Where will the children be when I come pick them up?  We will walk to a location near McKinley Elementary. Again, we are advised to keep specific details private until the event.

  5. HOW will I know where to go and what time to arrive? You will receive a text, email and phone call notifying you of the drill and all details you need on May 24. The information will be sent to you once we have gotten the children moved to our secure location.

  6. Is there anything I can do to help make this process run smoothly? YES!!

  • Bring your valid ID. (Driver’s license, passport, ID card, Work authorization).

  • Stay patient. We have a large school, and we’ve done a lot of work to get ready and hope to have things run smoothly. But, your patience will be so appreciated.

  • Be prepared to fill out a short Reunification card.

  1. WHY are we having this drill? Because all schools in BESD were asked to practice the reunification process this year. And because we want to be prepared as a staff to keep you children safe no matter the circumstances. See the second attachment below for more information on the “why” of reunification drills.
